Open Call for Dancers

Birds on a Wire Dance Theatre seeks three dancers (one stipend, two volunteer) to develop and perform our Fringe production of In the Clearing, a new immersive dance theatre work.  Dancers should be well-versed in contemporary techniques, be comfortable improvising and devising, and be collaborative and committed (ie, no divas please, it is an ensemble work).  Strong, interesting movers wanted!

ABOUT THE AUDITION:
Auditions will be held on July 6th from 8:00-9:30pm at the Performance Garage, 1515 Brandywine Street. 

Auditions will consist of phrasework, a short improvisation exercise, and some partnerwork. Please be warm and ready to dance at 8pm!  (Tip!  Check out Alexei Borovik's Advanced Beginner Ballet class from 6:15-7:45pm.  $12 for professional dancers.)

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
Performances will take place on September 9th and 10th at Christ Church Neighborhood House.  Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 8-10pm with a four-day intensive from August 12-15.  We have secured funding to offer one stipend position and are seeking volunteers for the additional two positions.
